Yet, there will soon be another vaccine scandal if we continue to submit to the dictates of the pharmaceutical industry, if health authorities persist in ignoring the victims and refusing to implement a truly effective vaccine safety system. Public health has gradually improved with advances in hygiene and rising living standards. The major role attributed to vaccinations in the decline of infectious diseases is entirely debatable. Furthermore, vaccines have caused a host of suffering due to their sometimes serious side effects. The benefit-risk ratio seems very slim.
