Directory Lister Pro is very useful because it allows you to list, save, print, or email a list of files from selected folders on hard drives, CD-ROMs, DVD-ROMs, floppy disks, USB storage devices, and network shares. The list can be in HTML, text, or CSV format (for easy import into Excel) or stored directly in a database.
When you list or print a list of files, you can include standard file information such as the file name, extension, type, owner, and attributes, as well as executable file (EXE, DLL, OCX) information, such as the file version, description, and company. Multimedia properties (MP3, AVI, WAV, JPG, GIF, BMP) such as track, title, artist, album, genre, video format, bits per pixel, frames per second, audio format, and bits per channel can also be listed.
Another set of columns that you can print is for Microsoft Office files (DOC, XLS, PPT) so you can see the document title, author, keywords, etc., without opening the files. For each file and folder, you can also obtain its CRC32, MD5, SHA-1, and Whirlpool hash numbers so you can verify that the file has not been modified.
Completely customize the visual appearance of the output; you can set the sorting of files and folders so that they are always displayed as you wish; you can also find out what the directory size is, sort by folder size and check which folders are taking up the most space on your disks.
Directory Lister Pro can also be integrated into the Windows Explorer context menu, so you don't even need to open the application to generate lists. A command-line interface is supported for automated lists that can be run from Windows Scheduler.
