La solution s’impose d’elle-même lorsqu’un voleur de cannabis est retrouvé mort, empalé sur son propre sécateur. Inévitablement, policiers et journalistes accourent. Mais une fois l’affaire classée, l’animation retombe.
Ce qu’il faudrait, c’est que ce cadavre inopiné soit le premier d’une longue série. Voilà qui fascinerait les curieux, mystifierait les enquêteurs, ferait couler l’encre et, surtout, mettrait enfin Mandeville sur la carte !
Et c’est ainsi qu’un esprit dérangé et légèrement mégalomane décide d’inaugurer la saison de la chasse…
