Living better with science

"To make everyone aware that before being a tool of technicians, science is constantly at work and governs each of our lives in its major events as well as in its daily details."

Without succumbing to mere protest, Marcel Bohy's work challenges the commonly held notion that only the elite can and should access scientific data. Instead, the author invites all generations, from 7 to 77 years old, from all professions and social classes, to (re)discover the foundations of the environment and, ultimately, of human and societal life, in the light of science. This learning, inscribed at the heart of every existence, should be considered a worthy return to the origin of things and phenomena, a necessary step in the development of critical thinking.

To know better in order to better understand and grasp reality: this is the thesis defended by Marcel Bohy. From the presentation of the gravitational field to the study of drugs, he offers a range of topics with unsuspected impacts on our daily lives and the potential to change our worldview. His ambition: to offer a scientific yet educational work, accessible to all.

Why be afraid of popular science when it becomes an ally of conscience?

Marcel Bohy is a chemical engineer, a graduate of ESPCI. Part of his career has been spent in industrial chemical companies. He has also held editorial positions in various publications in this field. He is currently involved in a project led by the French Chemical Industries Union (UIC) in high schools and middle schools, aimed at raising awareness among students and their teachers about the importance of chemistry for society and for each individual.
