This third edition of the COFER publication will be significantly less substantial than the previous one, which involved a complete overhaul to align it with the DCEM2-DCEM4 curriculum. Nevertheless, 10 new items will be added to the current edition to ensure that all DCEM curriculum topics that may be relevant to rheumatology, directly or indirectly, are covered.
This third edition of the COFER book will be significantly less cumbersome than the previous one, which consisted of a complete overhaul of the book to adapt it to the DCEM2-DCEM4 program.
Nevertheless, 10 new items should be added to the current work so that all items in the DCEM program that may, directly or indirectly, concern rheumatology are covered.
Each chapter, dedicated to a specific topic, systematically begins with a review of the national educational objectives, along with the additional objectives of the COFER (French National Education and Training Council), and then develops the theme. The clear and didactic content is supported by numerous tables and Key Points at the end of each chapter, and illustrated with a wealth of images: X-rays, black and white and color photographs.
The "Practice" section offers numerous annotated clinical cases, providing a valuable tool for training and self-assessment. It will be supplemented by approximately twenty new cases.
