A Free French Air Force pilot, Jacques Legrand, learns upon his return to Périgord that his father, a leader of the Resistance, has been assassinated. Could his murder have been carried out by those Arab soldiers wearing the Walfen-SS uniform? Has an incredible alliance been forged? He is indeed stunned to learn from Joseph Birenbaum, a survivor of the Auschwitz camp, that unsavory links exist between the Nazis and certain Islamist leaders.
A Free French Air Force pilot, Jacques Legrand, learns upon his return to Périgord that his father, a leader of the Resistance, has been assassinated. Could his murder have been carried out by Arab soldiers wearing the Walfen-SS uniform? Has an incredible alliance been forged? He is stunned to learn from Joseph Birenbaum, a survivor of Auschwitz, that unsavory ties exist between the Nazis and certain Islamist leaders. Firmly resolved to avenge his father's death, Jacques Legrand sets out to find the murderers. Aided in his perilous undertaking by Rachel Birenbaum, Joseph's daughter, and a handful of Muslim friends who refuse to let their faith be used in the service of Nazism, he traces the trail back to their spiritual leader, Hadj Amine and Husseini. A merciless struggle ensues between the protagonists. It will lead Jacques and Rachel across France, then being liberated, to the borders of Algeria, Lebanon, and Israel. On the road to Jerusalem, a path paved with blood, will love and peace triumph over violence and the dark forces of evil? As much as an adventure novel, this work is a historical document. It reveals the terrifying alliance that has united Nazism and Islamism since the 1920s. Sunni and Shiite fundamentalists initially sought to bring the entire Muslim world into the camp of the Axis powers. After 1945, Nazi dignitaries flocked to them to advise them in their fight against democracy. Their common goal: to dominate the world by colonizing the minds of religions. The role played by famous figures—Husseini, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem; Hassan al-Banna, founder of the Muslim Brotherhood; Ayatollah Khomeini; and certain leaders of the FLN—is clearly laid bare, as is that of Presidents Nasser, Sadat, and the Bosnian Izetbegovic. The horrors of the past and the "monstrous beast" that were thought to have been banished resurface in a different guise and foreshadow a dark future.
