This book presents itself as the culmination of all the teachings received and as the integration of the two traditions—the Rishikesh tradition and the Kashmiri Tantric tradition—that France Bastien has explored in depth throughout her journey. This work bears witness to her progression in the art of yoga. It is intended for both the novice and the seasoned practitioner; each will find tools to flourish in their practice of this art. It is structured on the model of Patanjali's Ladder, eight rungs that lead the practitioner to the state of Consciousness, beyond all concepts, in That. In addition to traditional yoga techniques, the author invites her readers to introspection, exploration, and inner awareness. Trained as a master in Hatha Yoga and Raja Yoga at a yoga center in France, in the initiatory lineage of Sivananda Sarasvati of the Rishikesh tradition, France Bastien received the initiatory name Kaivalyananda. Returning to her homeland in 1975, she began teaching her art while integrating it into her professional life. At a yoga seminar in 2002, she met Éric Baret, an international lecturer and disciple of Dr. Jean Klein of the Kashmiri Tantric Yoga tradition, who introduced her to this practice. After 35 years of promoting Rishikesh Yoga, she now incorporates her newfound passion for this non-dualistic approach into her teaching, an approach that has opened a fundamental path in her personal journey.
