HDDExpert gives you a clear view of your hard drive's health and performance, translating SMART attributes into readable information. It recommends maintenance (fan upgrades, replacement purchases, backups, etc.) based on the number of failures detected on your hard drives.
The software interface is composed of several parts:
A menu bar.
The Options menu allows you to determine the refresh rate of the displayed information (manual, every second, or every ten seconds). The F5 key allows you to refresh the information without accessing the menu. This menu also allows you to choose the temperature unit (C° or F°).
– The Action menu points to other software from KC Softwares.
– The Export menu will allow you to copy SMART values to a text file.
The upper part of the central frame displays general information about your hard drive. You will find the following there:
– The technical information of your disk (manufacturer, model, size, Firmware, serial number and cache memory size).
– The temperature of the disk.
– The number of times the disk has been started.
– The total disk usage time.
