Windows 7 is an operating system from Microsoft, released on October 22, 2009, and the successor to Windows Vista. Windows 7 was gradually replaced by Windows 8 starting on October 30, 2012. Support for Windows 7 RTM ended on April 9, 2013, while SP1 received standard support until January 2015.
Changes from the original DVD SP1:
– All updates up to January 1, 2015 have been applied, including .NET Framework 4.5.2, Internet Explorer 11 and RDP 8.1. Microsoft Security Essentials has not been integrated.
– The LAN, WLAN, Chipset, and Mass Storage driver packs have been integrated into the installer and DVD boot process. (Unfortunately, these are the same packs as in my previous releases, which are now two years old. It's impossible to find anything better at the moment, but it's still better than nothing.)
– NO modifications/removals of system components, tweaks, additional software, or anything else. This DVD is clean and not "unattended".
The DVD is sourced directly from the Microsoft website, so it's perfectly legal, unless you use Windows Loader to activate it. If you have your license, this DVD is fine.
The 32-bit and 64-bit versions have been combined into a single image to fit everything on a dual-layer DVD. All the announced changes are implemented across all nine included versions.
BIOS or UEFI?
The answer is: BIOS (Legacy)!
Since this release includes both 32-bit and 64-bit versions, I had no choice but to use the 32-bit version as the base to allow the DVD to boot on 32-bit PCs. This means that the latest boot type (UEFI) is NOT supported in this release. I provide a guide explaining how to convert from UEFI to Legacy (BIOS) in the instructions.
