Microsoft Office 2007, formerly known as Office 12, is an evolution of Microsoft's office suite released on January 30, 2007.<\/p>\n
The software included in the Microsoft Office 2007 suite is Word 2007, Excel 2007, Outlook 2007, PowerPoint 2007, Access 2007, Publisher 2007, InfoPath 2007.<\/p>\n
The old file extensions .doc, .ppt, and .xls are complemented by the new extensions .docx, .pptx, and .xlsx; these new extensions indicate that Microsoft Office is using XML as its default format. The main advantage is the compression of XML documents using ZIP files, which significantly reduces file size. The drawback of these new formats is that they generally cannot be read and edited natively with software prior to Microsoft Office 2007 or OpenOffice.org 3.0 \/ LibreOffice 3.0. However, Microsoft offers free downloadable compatibility packs for earlier versions of Office (up to Office 2000).<\/p>\n
The .doc, .ppt and .xls formats may therefore remain preferable for interoperability reasons.<\/p>\n
Microsoft Office 2007 SP3 also supports the OpenDocument (.odt) format and the Adobe Portable Document Format (.pdf) format.<\/p>\n
Additional information: This new distribution replaces my first version, "Microsoft Office 2007 Professional SP3 [Portable]". It is now fully compatible with Windows 10.<\/p>\n Unlike later versions of Microsoft Office (2010, 2013, 2016), this one does not require regular reactivation and is not limited in time.<\/p>\n The first start-up can sometimes be quite long and even if you may be tempted to restart the application, it is strongly recommended to wait two to three minutes (max) to avoid any corruption when registering the settings.<\/p>\n If problems persist, deleting the folder "%APPDATA%\\Thinstall\\Microsoft Office 2007" will reset the application's environment settings. The utility "\u00a0Maintenance tool.bat<\/strong>\u00a0This operation is performed automatically.<\/p>\n It's common for applications ported with Thinapp to generate false positives in antivirus software, preventing them from launching.
