Zorin OS skillfully addresses most of the objections Windows users raise against Linux. Its polished design allows for a smooth transition from Windows. Users, whether coming from the Windows or Mac world, will find familiar elements and nods to their original environment.
The lightweight (Lite) version stands out less from other distributions aimed at beginners, such as Linux Mint, Ubuntu, but especially Lubuntu, to which Zorin OS Lite is very similar visually.
One might question the relevance of deploying so many different versions. It certainly is for beginners, who thus avoid having to do extensive research beforehand to be effective in digital creation or office applications. Furthermore, the project is still young (started in 2008), and donations are its only source of funding at present.
