Sibelius is the world's best-selling music notation software, chosen by leading composers, publishers, and students alike. With Sibelius 8, you gain access to the most comprehensive toolset yet for expressing, accelerating, and boosting your creativity. Create stunning, professional-quality scores even faster, share audio and video versions with incredibly realistic musical phrasing, and showcase the full extent of your talent. Sibelius is the fastest, most intuitive music notation tool.
Unparalleled expressiveness and feeling
Sibelius 8's exclusive and completely redesigned Espressivo 2.0 feature gives you total control over the rhythmic feel of individual parts and allows you to personalize them to produce more expressive and realistic musical phrasing than ever before. Because the software is now better able to interpret details in notation such as tempo markings, accented measures, ornamental notes, mordents, breaks, and breath marks, you can hear every nuance of your score, just as you envisioned it.
Fast navigation
The new Timeline window provides a quick overview of your entire score's structure, regardless of its size or complexity, allowing you to quickly jump to any location to make changes or start playback. Simply click on a measure in the timecode ruler or on any marker (important elements in your score such as repeat markers, repeat structures, comments, key signatures, tempo, etc.) to immediately access this section.
Simple collaboration and sharing
Find all the score sharing and social media publishing features of Sibelius First in Sibelius 7.5, making it easier to collaborate with other users and share your compositions with the world. Share your scores via email, upload and publish them on ScoreExchange.com, and even share your compositions as video or audio files on YouTube, Facebook, and SoundCloud.
Export a video of your composition
Record a video file of your score and share your work on DVD or the internet. Sibelius handles numerous export resolutions, up to 1080p, in QuickTime (.mov) format on Mac or Windows Media Video (.wmv) on Windows. Share your work with others, even without Sibelius.
Full integration with the Scorch app
Export your Sibelius scores directly to Avid Scorch for iPad (available on iTunes) and access its fully interactive playback, repeat, performance, and publishing features. Sibelius automatically optimizes your score for iPad display, ensuring page orientation, number of staves, margin sizes, and more are preserved.
Localized versions for Brazil and Russia
Sibelius 8 is now available in Brazilian Portuguese and Russian, in addition to English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Japanese and Simplified Chinese.
Big news if you have a touchscreen
The first new feature of Sibelius 8 is that the software, just like Pro Tools, will be offered on a monthly or annual subscription basis.
You will also be able to purchase a full license and pay for updates annually as in the past.
Next, Avid is working on touch features, particularly for the Surface Pro 3, with Sibelius 8 now benefiting from multitouch.
You will also be able to add annotations and comments with stylus support on touchscreens.
New tools in Sibelius 8 include moving notes on the staff with a "magnetic" system, new icons, and faster navigation in your projects.
Avid is implementing a Sibelius training program (Sibelius 101 and 110) and certification program. Finally, the system has been simplified.
