PopChar makes it easy to type unusual characters without having to remember key combinations. Whenever you need a special character, PopChar is there to help. Click the "P" in the menu bar to display a character map. Select the desired character, and it will instantly appear in your document.
PopChar works with modern applications that support Unicode, as well as with older applications that only support the smaller ASCII character set. In Unicode mode, PopChar makes it easy to navigate and search through fonts containing thousands of special characters. Web designers will especially appreciate the ability to insert HTML symbols.
The "Shape Finder" feature lets you draw the shape of a character on a sliding, yellow-like Post-it note search sheet to tell PopChar what you're looking for. It sounds like a great idea.
You can access this application at any time by clicking the tiny icon of P in the upper left corner of the screen. There's also an option to configure a shortcut key if you prefer, making it easy to access all the special characters at any time. You can also use Printer's Apprentice.
